According to the current ISO 5349-2 (2001), hand transmitted vibration (IITV) exposure should be measured
using accelerometers rigidly fixed on the vibrating surface in the hand contact areas. If it is difficult to apply this approach, HTV can alternatively measured using an adaptor held in the hand (ISO 5349-2, 2001). Compared with the direct approach, the adaptor approach has several advantages if applied appropriately.
